Wedding trends for 2018 we love!!

Wedding Wire came out with a list of wedding trends in 2018 and here are just a few that we love!

New Age Bohemian Style – Although rustic will always be on trend here in Texas 😊, we also love the refreshing, casual feel of boho style. This is ideal for that bride that wants a laid-back vibe but doesn’t want such a country feel. A Lilian West gown would be the perfect centerpiece to a boho-inspired wedding!

Darker, richer hues – Chiffon and blush tones have had their moment and will always be a beautiful option but 2018 is all about richness! Think bolder tones with richer fabrics! And keep in mind that you can pull off these deeper hues year-round! Try bringing in accent colors that are bolder…If you want blush bridesmaids' dresses, try accenting them with some roses in a deep wine tone.

Velvet – Velvet is BACK! And it is not just for the winter anymore. Think about bringing in this richer fabric on a cocktail table in a seasonal color. Need something blue? Try some soft blue velvet heels for a stunning detail that is right on trend. The velvet is an unexpected choice that will really set your wedding apart.

Featured Wedding Designer: Martin Thornburg

Our featured bridal designer for this month is Martin Thornburg for Mon Cheri Bridals. Mr. Thornburg’s designs are perfectly glamorous with the impeccable quality you can always expect from Mon Cheri. The gowns are hand beaded with Swarovski crystals and come in an array of colors from traditional ivory to beautiful blush and champagne tones.

The Aria gown will take your groom’s breath away with the deep V in the back and soft, tiered horsehair skirt, and chapel length train.

The Fermata is another gown that is a true statement! This gown will really show off your curves and has all the structure built into the gown that you would ever need with the beautiful boning and drop waist style. The champagne underlay really makes the sequins and embroidered design pop. Keep the back sheer or use the modesty panel for a bit more coverage…it is the bride’s choice!

YES! We do tux rentals!

With prom just around the corner - it's time to start talking about tux rentals!

As an official retailer of Jim’s Formal Wear, we work to make the rental process incredibly easy! The first step is to come into our shop to choose your style. JFW offers an array of styles, ranging from traditional to the latest trends, and you can rent them all! We recommend coming in at least 1 month before the event but ideally 2-3 especially during prom season!

Next, we will take your measurements. Typically, tux measurements include the chest, overarm, hip, waist, out seam, and shirt neck/sleeve. If you are an out-of-towner, you can send us measurements (free of charge) by visiting any Jim’s Formal Wear location. There are locations all throughout the country! Once we place the order, you can expect your rental to be in our store the Wednesday before the event. It is best to come in that Wednesday to try it on so any that adjustments need to be made, we have plenty of time to do so. We have extended hours on Wednesdays to help accommodate busy schedules!

Finally, all rentals need to be returned to Amour Bridals within 1-2 days after the event. Don't forget we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays - so don't drop them off on those days.

Now to address a few frequently asked questions:

1. What do I do if my groomsmen are out of town?

Not to worry! As mentioned above they can go to any Jim's Formal Wear retailer and get measured. They can then call in their measurements and payment. We can even ship directly to them if that is easiest for them!

2. How much do the rentals cost?

We are competitively priced starting around $90 and going up to $200 or so depending on the package and any additional items you may be looking to order. Our packages come with the Jacket, vest, tie or bow tie, shirt, and pants. Additional items to rent include pocket squares, shoes, and socks. Also - for wedding parties, with 5 paid rentals the groom's tux is FREE! Who doesn't love free stuff!?

3. What about destination weddings?

If you need an extended rental we offer a 2 week rental with the second week being half priced. That will ensure you have plenty of time to get the rental back to us with out having to pay late fees!
